Grip Studs® have a solid tungsten carbide shaft that delivers durable performance and are easy to install or remove with the manual or power tool. - Moderate to aggressive fishing conditions in rivers or jetties with rocks, mud or slime. Ideal for felt bottom boots or boots with non-aggressive soles. If you are installing them into felt soles, do NOT use a power drill.Use the enclosed handle and make sure you put as much pressure as you can on the stud with each turn. If you spin the stud without pressure on it, the stud will unravel your felt. Drilling an 1/8" pilot hole into the felt prior to installation will also make it easier to drive the model 1100 into the felt. We also suggest pressure washing used felt to help remove debris prior to installing Grip Studs.
